The recent evolution of the capabilities offered by GenAI and associated tools is offering tremendous opportunities in the management of Earth Resources Projects both in terms of data or information access and in the decision making.
GenAI and associated tools form a technology which will probably be in constant evolution for the next 10 years or so. It is designed with a minimum of information or precise documentation about its capabilities. These capabilities being supposed to be discovered by direct interaction with tools using proper dialogs known as “prompt engineering”.
Thus the integration of AI in data processing and decision making needs a repeated evaluation of its performances by reference to past experiences. In the proper management of Earth resources this is done by refering to past fully documented projects. It is one of the goals of the Geointelligence Network to promote AI evaluation on the variety of projects conducted in the past by its participants.
